It is only 1.0 miles from Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park.

As the name suggests, the Caribbean Beach Resort takes its inspiration from the tropical islands of the Caribbean.

The resort is split into five different villages; named after the islands of Barbados, Martinque, Trinidad (North and South), Jamaica and Aruba all clustered around a 45 acre lake, the Barefoot Bay.

Each village consists of a group of 2 storey colonial style motel type hotels with exterior corridors disguised by verandas (but no elevators). The buildings are decorated in pastel shades with brightly colored roofs and the rooms are decorated with pale wooden furnishings, tropical prints and potted plants to enhance the tropical feel.

Transportation to the Disney theme parks, water parks and Downtown Disney is by Disney motor coach.

Rooms

All rooms are around 340 square feet (largest of the Moderate resorts) and will sleep 4 (plus a baby in a crib). Most rooms come with two double beds though rooms with a single king-size bed are available.

There are four different room rates: Standard View, Standard View but with a king sized bed, Water View which overlook Barefoot Bay or Preferred Location where you are closer to the main pool and guest facilities and hence have less distance to walk (located in the villages of Martinique and Trinidad North).

Dining

The Old Port Royale Center Towne complex features restaurants, shops and an amusement arcade. Full table service is available at Shutter's, a dinner only restaurant serving American cuisine with a Caribbean flavor.

The Market Street Food Court seats 500 (plus there is an outdoor seating area) and has six counters offering a range of food including a bakery, deli, pizza and pasta take-out.

There are also two shops, the Calypso Trading Post and Calypso Straw Market selling Disney merchandise and a small amount of groceries and snacks.

Recreation

In the middle of Barefoot Bay is a one acre island, the Parrot Cay, where you will find real parrots, gazebos, a picnic area and a childrens playground where the kids can climb, slide and play all day long. There are also beach playgrounds on the beaches of Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad South, alternatively join with some of your friends for a game of beach volleyball.

Each village also has its own 'quiet' heated swimming pool and beautiful white sandy beach front with palm trees, chaise lounges, cabanas and hammocks.

Alternatively, there is a large feature pool at Old Port Royale modeled on an old Spanish fortress complete with bridge, waterfalls, waterslides, shooting water canons and a spa (Jacuzzi/hot tub). Nearby is the Cabana Banana pool bar serving snacks, frozen specialty drinks and cocktails.

A variety of watercraft including pontoon boats, canopy boats, pedal boats, sailboats, canoes and Sea Raycers by Sea Ray® can be rented to explore the resort from the Barefoot Bay Boat Yard. You can also take a leisurely 1.4 mile stroll or jog all the way around Barefoot Bay or rent a bike or a horse drawn surrey.

The hotel also has an amusement arcade, the Goombay Games Arcade located at Old Port Royale, where the children can play a variety of video and pinball games.

The hotel offers a number of amenities including:
