The Moderate Resorts sit between Disney's budget Value Resorts and their Deluxe Resorts both in terms of price and amenities but like the Value Resorts they also have exterior motel style corridors though the clever theming disguises this to a large extent.
Most rooms have two double beds (some have a king sized bed) and will comfortably sleep a family of four plus a small child (under 3) in a crib.
Rooms are slightly larger than at the Value Resorts and suites are available at the Coronado Springs Resort.
Prices start from $145 per night for 2007 (and $149 for 2008) in the low season up to $225 ($230 in 2008) in the holiday season (excluding taxes) based on two adults in the room.
If you are planning on spending a lot of your time at the parks, prefer more choice when it comes to eating and have a better budget, then a Moderate Resort may well suit.
Like the Value Resorts, there are very large resorts and there can be a lot of walking involved around the resort.
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is situated between Disney-MGM Studios and Epcot, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is near Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort and Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort are both between Epcot and Downtown Disney.
Like all Disney Resorts each one has its own theme.
They each have a food court and most also have a table service restaurant, a pizza delivery service, a lounge bar and snack bars located by the swimming pools. There are both adult and children's swimming pools and there is also an amusement arcade and access to other activities such as boating.
For 2008, Disney have defined five seasons for their Moderate Resorts (2007 seasons can be found here):

Note that as of June 1, 2007 all Disney Resort hotels are smoke free and guests may only smoke in designated outdoor smoking areas. No smoking is permitted inside the hotels including guest room patios and balconies.
